Shifter hole from Factory?

anyone have a good picture (high res and quality) of a factory shifter hole location? Or if someone has measurements of its size and a reference to its location would help too. And yes i know I can just put the trans under the car and draw a square around it but the trans isnt in the car and the car is in the street and I dont have anywhere else to work on it at the moment and I would like to get done as much as I can before I have to tow the car somewhere else to do everything else. Thanks

I go to the PYP yard and cut out the factory support plate out of a stick car, wella...it falls right into place (mine fit so good I stuck it up there and it stayed) then mark the whole and cut.

Unfortunately by the time I go to the yard and take a different car apart and cut that out I would have spent more time than it is worth. Thanks for the suggestion though. All the yards round here that are u pull are kinda far and arent open that late. I have to do this on weekdays for now until next weekend. I was planning to have everything together by the end of then.

I figured with a picture I could make an educated guess from above on the inside or if someone had their car apart they could quickly measure for me. Worst case it gets done next weekend.

well it depends on how much you like the car

if you dont like the car enough to put this much effort into then maybe its time to sell it

do you have access to a mig welder or a friend with one ?

you can cut it out and weld in a layer or reinforcement tin around it

too bad i didnt know you needed this or i would have taken it from the 82 z28 4 speed i took to shredder, it had the 4 speed crossmember andplate and bushings and all still

wasted, gone, shredded

the cut out in the tunel for it is about as wide as the console

it was big

good luck

I spend a lot of time on my car. More than most of the people on this board probably. I just dont have a lot of time until next weekend to work on it. I figured if someone else knew or had a picture it could save me a little time. i have done it before and can do it again. I just want it to be as factory looking as it can. I am very particular about how I do things so much so that I want something to look right that no one will see.

Again, anyone have anything like what I am looking for? Any help would be apreciated.
