gauge cluster questions

i have an 88 firebird. I did the V6 to V8 swap. i have a mechanical speedo and the cluster is electrical, obviously the tach doesnt work. my question is what can I do to get the stock gauges to work? Can I swap a mechanical speedo cluster system? maybe from an 87 V8 so i can make everything work?
What should i do, to make my 88 V6 cluster work? Or what can i sub in there to make it stock looking?

I have a tranny with a mechanical speedo, my cluster is not. So I need to make one match another.

oh, well then, get a mechanical speedo, tkae the electronic one out of the cluster and replace it with the mechanical, as long as you have the cable to hook it up you should be good to go. gm used the same plastic housing for all of the clusters as far as i can tell and there is still the hole in the back of the housing to connect the cable for the speedo.

did you try to use the electronic cluster with the mechanical speedo in place of the electronic one?
i mean remove the electronic speedo from its cluster and put the mechanical one in
