Seat Belt Receivers
I understand they break. I understand that there was a recall on them, and that the recalled units have a silver tab in the top. I got a set of recalled receivers, with the metal tab in the top, and damned if they didn't break too! Within a month of install! The plastic inside broke, causing the button and the spring under it to go flying through the air.
Is it just my luck, or am I doing something wrong here? Simply push the red button, right? It isn't rocket science!
Can this be fixed in the existing receiver (ie a fix kit or something), or must I hunt down another set?

I just used 4th gen seatbelt receivers in my car, the angle is more drastic, but they work when you put the seat back in the car.

You used 4th gen receivers with 3rd gen belts? My 3rd gen belts won't fit into the 4th gen receivers I have - the sizes are different and the belt clips won't insert in the 4th gen receivers.
It's a PITA - this was a 1992 car - the factory receivers should have had the problem corrected in the manufacturing, as the recall was in 1991 as I remember. I have 4th gen belts and receivers - just trying to avoid the install of them, as there is some modding to be done to get it to work properly and look nice.

Yup, the receivers came out of a 02 Camaro, same car that I got the seats out of. Check out the picture in my vbgarage, I know the pic sucks and you can bearly see it, but it works.

Thanks for the pic - just as I suspected - my seatbelts are different (wider and shorter), and that's why they won't fit into the 4th gen receivers.
