any1 know how 85-87 Z-28 emblems are different from 91-92....i found ones on classic industries but it says they are for 85-87, its the only place i have seen them....got any ideas????

 

i believe the years are for correct coloring.

 

As Stage stated the difference between the years is in the color of the embelm.The gold shaded emblems are a prime example - the '82-'84( and the '82 maybe a little different from the '83-'84)gold are darker on the top bar than the '85-'87 and late '90-'92.I have a '83 with gold GFX/emblems and I've learned to look real close or ask ,expecially with ones on Ebay,what year they came off of(I got lucky and found a pair in good shape).I don't believe the Z28 emblems themselves changed in appearance otherwise from '82 to '92.Also check with Modern Day Muscle,Hawks and the Classified board here for emlems.

Now the back bumper emblem is a bit of a different story because I know it changed at least once.The '82 emblems don't have the Chevy bowtie as part of it(it must be fun to restore a '82 -especially if it's not a Pacecar).But I'm not sure if they changed again when the recessed area for the emblem was added to the rear bumper.
