mixed up options question

mixed up options question
My nephew just bought a 1992 RS 305 TBI auto. It has Z28 logos on it which probably were put there by the PO being it IS an RS. The question is , it has manual windows on the original doors BUT it has the power window switches on the console. He was told that the 92's had the power option and wiring installed IF you wanted to add power windows. Sounds like a crock story to me. I think someone changed the console at some point in time and just didn't remove the switches. Anyone have any clues or explainations?

I'm not exactly sure where to direct you, but maybe someone else can help.
For Pontiacs, if you have the VIN number, you can write to Pontiac Historical Services and give you a printout of the build sheet with all the original options. I assume, maybe incorrectly, that there is someplace like that you could write to for the Chevys.

just go get the proper console top piece off ebay, and then hurl the old one through the guys front window.
