Found 83 Firebird Power Seat - Help!
I went to a junkyard yesterday and found an 83 Firebird SE with a SUPER nice interior, including a power driver's seat. I wanted to buy it, but in order to remove one of the bolts, you have to move the seat up. Well, the car had no battery in it (or engine for that matter) so I couldn't move it. My question is this: the power seat has two wires - one orange, one black. Can I hook up either a small 6V or a full size 12V car battery to those wires so I can move the seat forward?
Thanks!

I use a 12 or 14V cordless battery from a Drill
works like a charm, take 2 wires to hook it up... I suspect it would work even if you get the wires backwards, the seat should just operate backwards. I WOULD NOT TRY IT THOUGH.
BTW, get the S/E emblems from the car and sell them on e-bay

Does anyone have a picture of an early third gen power seat track? It may help me in locating that final bolt. My buddy and I both couldnt find it.
Thanks,
