Can a power window thats slightly out of adjustment be slow?
Can a power window thats slightly out of adjustment be slow?
I had to replace my side window but right before i decided to replace it, i had installed a new window motor. The window was fast then. When I replaced the whole window, all the adjustment were out of place. So, I've re-adjusted them the best I could. Its slow when the window starts going into the 'window triangle'.
Now, its possible the tracks need to be re-greased. I'm also testing the window with the engine off so that might make a slight difference too. Just haven't tried it too much with the car on yet.
Any advice and what would just regular grease be good enough for the window tracks?

Ive done this a couple times. If the wetherstrip isnt pinching the window somewhere it is most likely the new motor. I put a motor rebuilt sold by Carquest in and the window was slow. Got another one and it was fine. The rebuilt ones dont seem to last to long I have 3 in my Suburban and got 2-3 years out of 2 of them and the GM ones were good 12 years. My be woth it to go new GM?
