Gauge cluster swap?

Does a newer/later(90-92) third gen gauge cluster swap right in place of the older third gen clusters? Here is a picture of the cluster I am talking about. Thanks, Nick.

blue is correct. Not only is the 90-92 version designed differently but it's also electronic. You'll need the mechanical version, 82-89. The 82-84 speedo heads have the dual pointer, so personally I'd stay away from them. The 85-89 speedo heads come with 85, 110, and 140. Take your choice. Unless you have dummy lights, these are direct swaps, plug and play.

I don't need a new cluster, my 145mph Iroc cluster is fine. I was just curious and couldn't find anything with the search button. Thanks much. -Nick.

what do you have to change if you had dummy lights? i bought a 85 Camaro that had the dummy light gauge, then the owner before me swapped it out for 140 cluster. the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge no longer work.

he said to replace the sending units all will be fine. is this true?

More than likely, of course no way to tell without taking a look at it.

Welcome to TGO. Probably replacing the sending units will do the tricks as mc mentions. Check the following link for more info (a search on this site is always a good choice):
