your probably right, that thing could fall off pretty easy, it sticks out pretty far and isnt screwd in, and the reason they are so rare may be because ppl go and replace theirs when it falls off or gets damaged. and that emblem looks like it would only be on the cars for a couple of years so thats not many other cars out there that are parted out that have that thing.

It looks like a fender emblem. I don't recall seeing a dash emblem like that before, but then again I could be wrong. Kind of a silly place to put large emblem letting you know your driving a firebird.

that example is definitely a fender emblem. I remember the original thread on this site that the owner made when they put it there. The only thing resembling an emblem in that area on a firebird would be the one printed on the dash pocket or the one molded into the plastic behind the dash pocket on certain year firebirds (I'm not sure which years)
