I am looking to buy a new steering column but do not know anyone thats makes them or has them. Also I need the VATS for I want the chip in key....dont need my car being stolen...as it already was tried....reason for getting a new steering column....any help will be greatful. Also..... does anyone know if I can put a remote starter on my car with the VATS installed? I know the VATS turns on the ignition...or something so the car can be started...(guys who tried stealing it didnt even get the radio...they just tried and left). Anyway I want a remote starter but dont know how it would work on a VATS ignition....? Like I said I want to keep the chip in key. Thanks.

 

i have remote start on my 91... well should say had. no longer.

anyhow to answer your question i'm unaware of anyone that offers a column with the vats setup. if you want aftermarket though plenty like ididit and flaming river offer columns.

if anyone knows if you can still buy the columns from gm speak up otherwise it looks like the junk yards. can guarantee it will not be cheap though. i just had to have a vats key made for one of my cars and it was over $100 for the key itself.
