Shifter trim plate for Megashifter?

Howdy yall, I'm going to put a console out of an 85 Z-28 in my 88 MCSS, it has already been trimmed to fit, I am just wondering what all of yall do with the shifter plate with the Megashifter in there. Can it be modified, or do I need to fabricate my own? Anyone have pics of how yours looks?

Thanks,
Bear

doesnt the megashifter come with a plate that replaces the stock piece to fit your megashifter?

It might, but I didn't put the Megashifter in my car, it was there when I bought it. I have been slowly been putting a full interior in my car, I started out with the shifter, 1/2 a dash, and a steering wheel.

Can I buy that plate from somewhere or is that something you made?

The boot and plate came with the shifter, I made the plate/gauge pod that the B&M plate is bolted to in those pictures.

The plate that fits in the console... do you mind me asking how you made it?

A mig welder and some sheet metal (I used something like 1/8" square tube for bracing underneath), cut out the holes for the gauges, my wife made the vinyl padded cover for it.

Does the other shift plate that comes with the shifter fit in the console at all? I'm really not loking to weld. Oh and thanks for answering all 4 million drunken questions.

It does not directly fit the stock console. You will have to hack it up (which I dont' understand why they'd make something like that). I hacked mine and ended up cracking it while cutting it to fit, hence the DIY version.
