what's up with IROC horn buttons?
ok so my horn button fell off on my 88 IROC, for no reason. my brother's did the same on his 89 IROC, while he was driving! I've seen other people have this problem...so what's the deal? are they defective? j/w. Thanks.

This happened on an 89RS donor car that I used to have. I think there might be tabs that lock into the steering wheel. Check for those.

Yes definitly, compare your car to other cars with the same milage at the same year. They all age the same, glue is glue, plastic is plastic.
Both of my 88's were in great shape, hell my new IROC has 75,000 orig miles and doesnt have a spot of rust. Minus the rip in the seats, the interior is mint and all the power options work..
It's 19 years old... Garbage? I think not.

did i ever say i dont like my car? ive had quite a few of these 3rd gens,moreso then most have anyways.
you cannot deny the fact that these cars were poorly made,its just a fact,if you cant admit that,your simply in denial.
they were built with horribly weak drivetrains,problematic FI systems,and more quirks then i care to even debate over.
simple fact is,if they werent such good looking vehicles,NOBODY would tolerate the BS you have to deal with,with owning these vehicles.

my iroc is also an 88,with lower miles then your's,and it was owned by an OLD couple,and it has its fair share of problems.
the only reason i purchased MY iroc,was because it has ZERO options{less **** to go wrong with it}
and while most power options do continnue to work on these cars,they work so horribly,they might as well not even be considered power options,but rather time wasting anoyances. the windows move like mollasses in january,the locks work sometimes,sometimes they dont....vice versa.
i wont even get into how they run inconsistently on a day to day basis...
