You could just replace the bulb with an LED if you add the proper resistor inline.
15V/15ma=1K resistor
Go to Radioshack(or whatever) and get a pack of resistors that have the following color code
Brown
Black
Red
Gold(or silver)
These will be 1K resistors and will clamp the current at 15ma while the car is running. Just make sure to attach one to EACH LED, like the following:
12V+ ---> 1k resistor ----> LED ----> Ground
Typically, the longer lead on the LED is the positive. If it doesn't light up at first, try turning it around. No damage will occur if backwards. However, forgetting the resistor will kill your LED pratically instantly.

I saw those overlays before and the way you ran the red neon is cool I was thinking about it but Im stickin to the theme of black and aluminum so I didnt think the white overlay would match my interior...I still want a step by step on how to do it so when it comes down to installing the new lights in the hvac and shifter i know exactly what to do like..first i know I unscrew the torx screws obviously but then what? where are the bulbs how do i get to them and how many do i need?
oh yeah rocketerz how did you out the layout in the shifter did you just stick it on top? or open the plate break the plastic and put it below? and with the hvac did u have to pull out the ***** to stick in down

Hey ok the package comes with good instructions, im an idiot but i still did it.
what you do is pull off all the screwed, (I reccommend takin the shifter off too) lift the plastic up and peel the old overlay off and apply the new one, use some good adhesive. I used superglue, its holding but not like id like it to (bubbles) and its a mess. I think double sided tape woulda worked better. The HVAC was a pain for me, If possible take the **** off because it doesnt fit around it too well, thats why mine looks kinda pulled out because I had to force it to fit. Take your time with it
Im always in a rush unfortunetly, but I still like how mine came out. Leme know if you need any other help.
