i have a early production 82 z28, and need too find inter color code as im planing too repaint of inter panels in rear of veh, HELP, CANT FIND.--- have a feeling its called claret, as its maroon color, but paint shops say they need code.

 

The 1982 Camaro (in any model) exterior colour like that was called Metallic Maroon by Chevrolet (only 9,889 out of 189,747 were ordered in that colour).
Chevrolet's paint code was 78.
PPG defines a code 78 for a 1982 Chevrolet as Dark Claret Poly with a PPG code of 3440.
Is this the colour that you are looking to do your interior panels?
Note; Due to aging & fading etc, the older paint outside your car may not match your new interior paint even though it has the same colour code.

PS;Your ride had two choices of interiors, Camel or Maroon.

That's kind'a what I thought, but haven't yet found what they are. Still digging.

 

Look on the trim tag in the center of the radiator support.It will give you exterior and interior color codes.As Iroctopless stated your exterior color code shoulde be 78(it will appear as 78U and 78L on the trim tag).And the interior color code should be 79B(standard cloth)),79C(custom cloth),79E(conteur custom cloth) or 79R(standard vinyl).
