another question

sorry I have all these questions but on a scale of 1 to 10 I am like a 2 when it comes to being mechanically inclined.

But theres a plastic piece that runs across the roof just above the rear passengers heads in my 1985 TA, and when it rains hard or I wash my Trans Am, water drips in on the ends.

Is the trunk weather stripping bad? I ordered some but I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any other ideas of where the water is leaking in?

Re: another question

Is the car solid roofed or does it have T-tops. If t-tops, It could be them, but it's most likely to be the hatch seal.

they are t tops but I replaced the weatherstripping on them and Im not 100% sure without looking but the plastic piece that runs horizontal on the roof is back further from the t tops.

Re: another question

Yes, but if the t-top seals are leaking, water will run along the metal and drop off at the lowest point...which in this case is that rear horizontal piece. You probably should just remove that plastic piece, its only a few screws, and run water on the top of the car and see where it comes in.

Re: another question

Hmm I'll have to try that out... I did replace all the t top weatherstripping and seals, so if the trunk weatherstrip dosen't fix it I'll try that next...
