98-02 Camrao Cluster

I have a couple questions.

1. Will the Trans Am and Firebird cluster fit in a 98-02 dash using the camaro bezel?

2. Has anyone ever thought of using a Trans Am or Firebird 155 MPH cluster with a mechanical odometer and put 98-02 camaro white overlays over the bird cluster? (im aware that there would be a hole for the digital odometer but, so what)

My thoery is that the bird cluster spedo would work at 4000 ppm, the tach (might need DD box, not sure) will work, the water temp, oil press, battery, and the FUEL gauge. The sending unit i think in the pre 98's are 0-90 ohms and should work with a LT1 gauge cluster from a bird and it looks very similar to an LS1 camaro cluster. With the camaro over lays it might look like the LS1 cluster but with out the didgital odometer and should work completly, even the fuel quanity gauge. Now this is just a theory so I wanted to see if anyone could giv me some feed back to see if this could be done. I am planning on doing a 4th Gen interior swap ito my 87 IROC.

3. Also, would i still have to run a wire from the VSS to the ECM even if i dont us cruise control.

Thanks guys, hope to get some feed back soon. I am planning on doing a full interior conversion including doors and I plan to document the entire project and publish a very detail instruction package in PDF so that anyone who wants to do this conversion in the future can pretty much have a manual so that there wont be a 100 different threads about the same crap.
