new headliner install/plastics

hey
ive had a new headliner sitting around my house for a while now, and no headliner in my car for about the same time. ive spent the last couple of weeks trying to eliminate the ttop leak, but have found now real luck. i was wondering if theres a was to maybe gutter the water so it does not ruin the headliner so bad? and also, do i need the plastic that goes in place of the seatbelt cutout slit in order to keep the headliner up there? anyone who has these and doesn't want them i NEED some. any help would be awesome
thanks

Re: new headliner install/plastics

I would install subframe connectors and replace the weatherstripping- I would think that would go a long way to curing the problem.

Re: new headliner install/plastics

even if i do that, do i have to have the plastic clip that goes around the cutout slit for the seatbelts in the headliner to keep it up there? im having a hell of a time trying to find grey ones. if i have to have it, ill go ahead and get black ones, but i really want to put my headliner in now
thanks

Re: new headliner install/plastics

Those do nothing to hold the headliner up unless your headliner board is broken there. The headliner sits sandwiched between the B-pillar panel and the roof, and between the rear header panel and the roof.
