Help with hatch motor
i was wondering if my hatch motor was broken or could be fixed. when i shut the hatch the lock doesn't grab it and lock it down. to get it to lock i have to almost slam the hatch. it looks like the motor and lock have slid down a little bit. is there a way to loosen some bolts or something and re-ajust the position of the lock and motor?

Re: Help with hatch motor
The hatch pull down on these cars go bad a lot. Mine just went and my friend has replaced his twice already. You can get new ones or have yours rebuilt. What you described definitely sounds like a bad pull down motor. Its weird that it looks like it slid down. Did you hit it with something? Check the mounts and see if it is just a problem with its position before you spend money on anything.

Dont slam...
Look down into the hatch motor...specifically at the latch.
You'll see a small black contact switch on the left side, take your finger or small screwdriver and press on that switch. Your motor will engage, keep holding that switch til the hatch motor goes all the way down. Let it go. The motor should raise up to its full up position.
