Seat stuck in far back position, how do you remove?

Hey guys, my drivers side seat is stuck in the far back position, so I can't get to any of the bolts in the rear. I've tried getting a box end wrench around it, but I can't get enough leverage on it to get it all the way on the bolt, and it just strips the top. My open end wrenches wont even fit around it (for some odd reason), and I'm not going near it with an adjustable wrench... stripped far too many bolts with one of those. I know I have the right size, because it fits all the other three bolts and I was able to take out my pass seat with it. anyone have any tips or tricks to get the seat out of the way (I've tried PB blaster on all of the moving parts, but that did little).

Is it manual or power?

All manual seat use a simple pin/slot locking mechanism

Reach under thye seat with your hand and pull the spring loaded pin out and it will slide. That is if your slider handle is off or broken

If its power then you are SOL and will have to stuff a box end in there and grunt it out
You can get a stubby 13mm in there with them in full back position
Also you can get a 13mm socket with a stubby ratchet in there pretty easy
The flexing spark plug ratchets common at autozone work great in tight places like that

you might be able to remove the oens that bolt the tracks to the bottom of the seats

worth a try

then after the seat is unbolted from the tracks then you could remove the tracks from the floor pan

if its manual then you can reach under and pull the spring loaded pin as already stated and move the seat fore and aft like usual

good luck

Well I did get it out today, as well as the rest of my cabin interior. Tomorrow is the dash

Thanks guys

I think the slider is damaged though. It is a manual, and the spring loaded pins do come out, but the inside track (it's a drivers seat, so the track closest to the tranny tunnel) would barely budge even after PB blaster and a hammer knocking it back and forth. Any way to disassemble these tracks so I can sandblast the parts and clean it up nice?
