What year are these seats?

I found a picture of these seats while doing a search. They're ss85tadude's seats. I liked the look of them and would like to get a set. What year are they from and what model Firebird, TA, or GTA? Thanks in advance!

Re: What year are these seats?

those look like recovered seats out of a thirdgen firebird. I know my old 92 had some like that. You should be able to find a set for a fair price in good condition - but don't expect to find leather.

Ahh yeah, those were just re-covered with Hawks vinyl, and I doubt I'd ever find black leather seats of the style in good condition anyway. I was planning on getting those seats and re-covering them. Just need to know what year range and model. Hmm, I have an 87 Firebird parts car, forgot what seats were in it, maybe I already have a set lol. But thanks for the help, it's appreciated.

Re: What year are these seats?

Those are 4th gen seats. They are the same as the 3rd gen GTA seats, except for the headrests and connectors. My buddy had a set. They were a direct bolt in, of course. All 3rd and 4th gen seats are direct bolt ins.

He wants to sell them. A guy WAS bying them, in installments, but just stopped paying a month ago, with no communication, so he's considering reselling them.

Re: What year are these seats?

Alright thanks. Just one more question though. I looked on Hawks at the replacement covers, and it shows a picture of the seats.

On the 3rdGen GTA seats, the front seat is the same, except the head rests and the back seats.

There were 2 types of 4thGen ones. On the first one the seats are the same except the headrests. On the second, they're close but below the headrests the seat is a bit different.

4thGen Seats:
1st- http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...ROD&ProdID=686
2nd- http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...ROD&ProdID=683

Sorry, but I'm pretty particular on what I want, lol but dont have the money to spend on custom upholstery, but thanks for your time.

Edit: Just found these, said to be off of a thirdgen http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/82-92...spagenameZWDVW

Re: What year are these seats?

Yep...They are both Firebird seats, but I believe only TAs got the modified GTA seats, with the lumbar sides, etc., vs standard Firebirds.

The last ones are 3rd gens, I believe they are 91/92 Camaro ones.

Oh....4th gen rear seats are about 1/8"-1/8" narrower. I had a full set in my 92, and if you really paid attention, you could tell the rears were narrower. Not enough to be concerned about, but the bolted in just fine.

Re: What year are these seats?

I thought that the black seats and the ebay gray seats were the same. I'm pretty confused right now lol... '87 Firebird seats are similar but don't have the extruded middle section on the bottom part. I'll check the seats in my 91 parts car but I don't remember anything special about them.

There's an 87+ Trans Am 350TPI car locally, I'll probably check it out.

I could be wrong, but I think those are the 1987ish firebird seats recovered in Vinyl
