4th gen DUAL power front seats?

My gf is getting Trans Am seats for her car and the passenger seat is power. Is there any way of hooking it up to make it work, since her stock seat is manual? I've never even thought about it until I saw pictures of the seats and saw that both front buckets are power.

If it is just the power adjuster mechanism, simply run power and ground wires to the wire harnass on the seat. It should be orange power and black ground. If it is power lumbar and bolsters it is a little more work but can be done. I just put 97 T/A seats in my 84 and had to run the extra wires and air tubes for the bolsters and lumbar. Not real hard and definitely worth it.

It's got 2 switches on it, I'm thinking it's lumbar and bolster. How did you run the wire/air tubes?

I ran mine under the carpet and console to the drivers side.
I had the actual air tubes and harness though (pass seat gets it's power and air from the drivers seat), so it was pretty much plug and play.

Re: 4th gen DUAL power front seats?

As zepher said under the carpets and console. I didn't have the harnass so I had to improvise. The wire harnass on both seats should have the same colors in both. The hookup goes color to color example pink wire on driver seat goes to pink wire on passenger seat. Rather than just splice all the wires together I put on new plugs with male and female ends just in case I had to remove the seats again. Orange and black are the power and ground wires. The other colors just hook up to each other. The black box under the passenger seat is the compressor for the lumbar and bolsters. It is plumbed into the passenger seat already but you must run tubes to the drivers side. One tube inflates the other deflates. Trial and error will get that straightened out. I also didn't have the proper connector for the air tubes, so I cut the fancy plugs off, stuck in a barbed hose fitting and used clear tubing from Home Depot to connect the seats together. I tried to get the proper wire harnass and air tubes from GM but the dealer couldn't even find a listing for them. Nothing in the salvage yards around here either. Good luck and just ask if you need more info.

You guys rock, thanks for the help. I'm going to pick up the seats here in a few hours, and I'm hoping the passenger side still has all the tubes and stuff with it. I'm getting a really good deal on them though. They're tan leather seats out of an LS1 T/A, they were pulled from the car at 40,xxx miles, and I'm getting the full set of seats with rear seatbelts for $150.

Re: 4th gen DUAL power front seats?

I just put 2002 TA seats in my car. You need to get the wire/hose harness from the donor car. I won my seats on eBay and they didn't come with the harness but I got lucky e-mailing a bunch of people off eBay and found someone willing to sell me just the harness. Each seat has a plug with a bunch of wires and a plug for two air hoses to run over to the driver seat and you hook up a +12v and a ground to the harness on the driver side. My carpet already had holes cut in both sides so I just had to take out the center console, seat belts, and the door sill trim piece to run the harness.
