Grant Steering Wheel Security System
Has anyone used this before on thier car before? The purpose is that you can remove the steering wheel when you park the car so it doesnt get stolen. heres a link: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...46018_-1_11919
I want to know if it would be a good idea. I'm a big guy and I would like to have the feature of removing the wheel so I can get in and out easier (and also for security purposes). Also if i bought the security system and a wheel, would I still need an adapter kit?? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Kyle

Never used it, but it looks like a good idea when your ride may be parked for more than a day. Pain in the a$$ if your just going to the mall.
This is what I use. As opposed to the Club which can be easily removed by cutting the wheel and it only blocks the wheel from turning, this little gem covers the steering column in amoured steel, covers the ignition with a steel shield, and blocks the steering wheel from turning. Plus it's easier to use.

I hate to admit it, but the only place I could find it around here is good old http://www.davidt.com/parts.html.
The one pictured is red but black is also available. They will ship them out (US or Canada).

If he really, REALLY wants your car, sure, he'll go buy the kit and come back and steal it later, but not many third gens are that valuable, and if they are, you need to have more than a goofy steering wheel as your anti-theft system.

Hi I have a Grant No Wheel No Steel system it was on my 1982 TA & I loved it. No one can get your car I had some "friends try " & they were pros & they could not move the car. You can not just get another adapter they are all different & require the key to even get the cover off the hub. Yes you do need a adapter for it to go one the column. If your interested I have one for sale> LMK Shannon
