Where can one buy Firebird deluxe molded door panels?
My car has been stored for the last 8 years and I found it infested with mice. I'm redoing the entire interior and thought I would make a few upgrades while I'm at it.
One thing I'm considering is to change to the molded door panels found in the Firebird deluxe interior from '87-'89. But I can't find them for sale anywhere! I see replacement flat panels everywhere.
Anybody know where I can get a new set?

I'm not sure what the difference is...Are you referring to the GTA ones?

i know which ones you are talking about! Never seen a plac that sells them though....have you tried junkyards and the parts wanted section? I personally love the flat panel/standard ones.

Yes, same as found in the GTA cars. I think this may be a moot point now. I was considering to convert my grey interior to black and tan, but I just bought a complete set of '98 grey leather seats. My original door panels can stay since they are in perfect condition.
Although, if anybody knows the answer please post. It will come in useful for someone else searching the boards in the future.

Re: Where can one buy Firebird deluxe molded door panels?
i think i may be able to help a little... i just opted to get some from the u pull it. i have been looking for months until a 3rd gen came in that had them. the ones you want you may find on ebay... after checking time an again i have found them several times they were always the tan color an rarely other colors so you just have to look. i just put my junk yard specials on yesterday. i found black and i took off my molded grey ones. still trying to figure out if i want to keep them and reupholster or sell or ???. hope that i helped. btw if you find them you will need to get the piece that the arm rest bolts to because it is different than the flat panels. just thought that would be useful in the future for someone.

I know, I know!
You're referring to what are commonly known as "GTA" panels, though they weren't exclusive to GTAs. And the answer to your question is...
IF any new ones are still around, they'd have to be found through GM, I'd think. But it's very doubtful any exist. And no one reproduces them, so that's why you couldn't find any. People's best bet would be finding a used set from a private seller, junkyard, etc. Also needed with these would be the armrest and the armrest support bracket, as these were different from those with flat door panels.
