I was thinking about getting some 4th gen seat belts to match the color of my seats, but I need to know how to install them. I know they don't have the bottom retractor like the 3rd gen seat belts do, so how does the bottom of the 4th gen belt screw in? What about that wire that connects to the bottom retractor? What about the belt recievers?

 

the bottom screws in by removing a bracket that was there from the retractor, then you bolt in the 4th gen piece (but first you need to shave a little bit of plastic off the bottom of the 4thgen piece), I think I just left the wire alone, and the 3rdgen recivers (are those the piece that the belt clicks into?) if so then they worked with the 4th gen belts for me.

 

The bracket the 3rd gen lower retractors screw into is screwed onto the car? I figured they would be welded. I meant do the 4th gen recievers work in place of the 3rd gen ones, otherwise the belts won't match.

 

nope, they werent welded, they were held in by a torx bolt, and I think the 4thgen recivers work, but not sure, I havent done that yet.
