Replacing lousy 82 PMD seats with C4 vette seats
I'm tired of my lousy PMD seats and there uncomfortable and unsupporting qualities. I have a set of 87 corvette seats which are way better then my stock ones. Has anyone ever done this???? They are nice in the sense the back fold forward to allow access to the back seats as well as recline to ... So I figured I would dye the plastic shells tan and have the cushions done in matching tan leather like my PMD seats. So anyone ever done this lets see some pics in your cars.

Re: Replacing lousy 82 PMD seats with C4 vette seats
billions of different gm 2 door front seats tilt forward so ppl can get in and out of the vehicle rear, s-10 trucks, novas, malibus, you name it
notihng odd or rare or anything about such a thing
the PMD seats in my 82 t/a i am most likely replacing with s-10 ones when i find a set of blue ones, low back ones
i just dont like the PMD ones much, too tall and not that comfortable and just plain bulky IMHO
i figure someone will like them more than i do
the caris not ever gonna be a 100% stock factory car, it doesnt evne have the original LG4 305 engine in it, and its converted to th350 and so on
normally i am one of the first persons to jump onto the keep it stock original correct boat, but sometimes it doesnt make much or any difference,
in my particular case theres really no point in worrying if it has its PMD seats anymore or not
with some vehicles comfort is better than originality, really
and this pretty mucties into driveability as well.
it might be different if it were a super low miles low production vehicle that never had any rust or body repairs or anything at all, etc.
C4 vette seats sounds like a big project, probably,
i would think that you could find more common and more comfortable and easier to install seats with not much trouble at all
good luck

My friend has a c4 vette and i must say his leather seats are probably the most comfortable seats i have ever sat in. They just hold you right in there, and of course they cost a fortune just cause there vette seats.

I remember seeing an article in super chevy or something. They were almost a direct bolt-in, I think they only needed to slot the holes where they mount to the floor.

i dont think it woud be to hard to swap.
some idiot welded the driver side set to the floor!!
ill have to cut it out and get some new seats im thiing maybe some racing seats. but i would haveto weld new bolts and whatnot.
but im sure you can cut the bolts off the sats you off.
and buy new bolts and weld them where the vette seats would go so it would jus bolt right in kind of thing.
it doesnt seem to hard.

c4 seats are amazing I love them the swap has been done the problem is the c4 seat are much taller than our seat, and i believe that new seat racks have to be made
