Door Panelssssssss
Got an 82. Got the right door panels finally but my old door panels were so killed I threw them out completly along with all the padding that goes behind the door panel.
Anyone got any suggestions of what I can put behind the door panels for replacment? Do I need a special plastic for the Anti-weather intrusion layer?
Best,
F.L.A.G

Re: Door Panelssssssss
what padding? I've never pulled a door panel off a thirdgen that had any kind of padding on the backside. The only thing between the cardboard and the door on my cars was the clear plastic weather barrier, which should be available almost anywhere.
Re: Door Panelssssssss
Like Jim85IROC, I too never noticed any padding material (like that found on some other older cars), behind the cardboard like panel.
Re: Door Panelssssssss
Visqueen(spelling?) available at ACE, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
A small roll(4x25 foot) can do 20 cars where buying the material pre cut for two doors costs as much as 3 small rolls of the stuff, :P.
Although...
What I was hoping this thread was about was a good way to reattach the upper trim to the door panel material once they become seprated, aka, torn apart,
. ???
Don't say Visqueen either, ha.
