lowering seats?

I have a set of 4th gen seats in my 82 camaro. I also have a 10 point cage. My problem is that if I have an accident currently my head would hit the front bar. Does anyone know of a way to lower my seats without fabricating new brackets? Is their a GM or an after market bracket which would work for me? I really don't want to go to a racing seat yet.

Re: lowering seats?

power seats usually go up and down, as well as forward/backward, and tilt. I'm unsure of the fourth gen set up though, but with my 4th gen manual tracks I used the tilt feature to get my seat more comfortable for me and it just so happened to lower the seat alittle bit. The rear at least, which would determine where my head would end up. Good luck let us know what you came up with.
