Looking for Carpet and Need Some Help!

Hey all,

I have a 1992 B4C Camaro and thanks to a minor accident, I'm restoring it. The outside is shaping up rather nice, and now I'm moving on to my grey interior where I need carpet and a headliner.

Before I posted here, I did a little research on the brands offered and problems like fading some of you have seen with replacement carpet. The most talked about brands look to be ACC and ACS. From the research I've done, I'll probably go with the ACS stuff although I'm not sure if I want the standard or premium carpet. I'm looking for something that will match the factory carpet. The car will not be driven all that often, so wear should not be a problem, but fading would be as the car will sit outside most of the time. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, a Camaro shouldn't be too plush anyway!

Also, my car has the Deluxe interior and I have carpet on the door panels, as well as the locking storage cover in the hatch area. What do you all do about carpet for these areas? It's in fair shape on the door panels, but the storage cover is a little rough. Plus, I think most of us have carpet on the console too. I'd like to make sure all of this has the same color and texture when I'm done.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

ACS carpet's have the same problem's as the ACC. ALL aftermarket carpet's fade over time, some faster than other's.

Well, that's not what I wanted to hear.............lol.

Just as you said though, I assume it will fade somewhat over time, but I thought I remember seeing posts where it faded from grey to green in 6 months to a year. To me, that's unacceptable.

Anyone know a thread count on factory carpet?
