T-Handle Shift ****

***I posted this in Interior first, but there is much more traffic in Appearance so I figured I'd try here, if this one picks up Mods feel free to delete the other***

I was wondering how a t-handle **** would look with the T5? I'm in the market for a new direct replacement type shift ****, and It seems like a t-handle might give a bit of old school flavor. I was also thinking about going with a plain-jane GM **** or hurst leather ****.

Any pictures/suggestions would be great!

Re: T-Handle Shift ****

I hate mine.
It's a weird feeling having your hand facing that way. Moving it left to get it into first just feels strange. I'd use a ball, or PISTOL GRIP if it were possible.

I installed the Hurst pistal grip...see pic (recently changed from the aluminum base unit to the black grip - no adapter needed for the black shifter.

Re: T-Handle Shift ****

A big ol' pistol grip from an early 70's Mopar would be the best. Especially if it's higher than the dash pad.

Re: T-Handle Shift ****

holy crap .. that shifter is like 3 feet in the air .. lol ..

mine used to look like that .. but one day i was sittin in my camaro and was thinkin how to "fix" it

next thing i know im taking a reciprocating saw to my shifter and now its REAL short ...

it feels amazing .. its a really short throw and it feels like you actually control whats happening in that box of gears ..

and it beats $129 for a "short throw shifter" ...

i like the look of the pistol grip though .. i would get one but i love the way mine is now ..

neways ..

Re: T-Handle Shift ****

Yeah, that unit needed an adapter...the black grip does not, it screws all the way down to the end of the threads.
It's black with the Hurst logo's in white.
I'll post a pic when I get the car out of storage.

The B&M Hammer is a nice piece, IMO, and screws on without adapters. Check my Car Details for a pic.
