Steering Wheel Alignment
Can it be done with a 1992 firebird? I looked at a repair book and know how to take off my steering wheel, but can I move the wheel to be aligned with my wheels (It's currently off about 30 degrees.) by taking it off and moving it to the upright center position.

Re: Steering Wheel Alignment
The correct way to do this would be to get the car on a alignment rack and set the steering wheel strait then adjust the tie rods accordingly.

Re: Steering Wheel Alignment
No...Alignment is not adjusted to the steering wheel. It can't be. The steering wheel alignment is adjusted to the rolling wheels.

Re: Steering Wheel Alignment
Yeah, one of the first steps in alignement isn't setting the steering wheel straight... it's setting the wheels straight by measuring out from a common reference point on the chassis.
