burgandy....... i recently bought a 82 camaro with burgandy interior and the plastic panels by the back seats are all scratched up and im looking for somewhere to find these panels... normally i would just want to swap the interior to black or gray cause i like that better but the interior in this car is actually in pretty good shape i just need those plastics anyone help me out?

I believe there were two colors of red. If you were in a junk yard, and you had to walk from one car to the other, you'd never know they were different. But if you held two panels up, one from each car, you'd see one was definitely darker.

Just makes your search harder, actually, because someone selling a red interior might have one or the other, and isn't able to tell you whether it's the dark red or the lighter red.

 

The color code for the red in '82 was M for maroon.It will be on the trim tag on the top center of the radiator support.But as ScaryOne pointed out there are other dark reds available later but you'd have to see them side by side to tell the difference.

i have seen alot of and owned many third gens and still have yet to see a maroon type color interior

must be really uncommon

you can always vinyl paint the parts

we are in the 85 elky we are restoring since the interior dark maroon parts that survived are real dirty or faded, and the new parts are black bare

Maroon/dark claret, I had that in my 82 and could never find replacement parts in the same color. I even bought some special color paint off the internet but it never matched. Place an add in the interior section you may luck out. Is it this color?

 

yea ive been doing some research on the color now that i know the color code thanks to coolram and scaryone and ive found out that the only year they used maroon color interior was in the 82 camaro... thats it....

and thanks 82 iron youve shot down my dreams lol if you werent able to find any pieces in that color or find a paint to match, it looks like ill eventually be changing the color of the interior it kinda sux cause i kinda like it cause its different i do like the black interior alot but thats the color that everyone wants and ive had 3 camaros with the gray and this is just a change of scenery but if i cant find the rear plastic panels ill change it cause they are pretty tore up lol
