Digital Gauge Pack

I just got a digital gauge pack specifically designed for my '86. I have never messed with any kind of auto wiring before, so do you think that it would be less trouble to go and have it done at a shop, or is it something I could do myself?

Any tips/ suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Digital Gauge Pack

IFFF im not mistaken, because its made for ur year, it should just be plug and play! your biggest issue will be taking apart the dash, and even if your semi-mechanically inclined you'll be fine!

Thats the exact same gauge panel i had on my 84 years ago.If my memory serves me correct.I know you need a adapter for the mechanical speedo. So the digital speedo can convert the mechanical signal to digital. This transducer mounts at the tranny between the trans & speedo cable. There is a blk/whit wire that you run up to your cluster. When i installed mine though i didnt feel like running the wires from under the car up to the dash.So i just mounted the adapter behind the cluster directly in front of the speedo cable. For the wires you are suppose to splice into the wires on the dash(there's two sets)behind the cluster. What i did instead was locate the terminal for the particular gauge. Then i matched that terminal to the corresponding connector on the cluster.I then applied the apropriate wire for the gauge to the connector. This allowed me to pull the cluster out as a unit as you would with the stock gauges. The speedo cable was merely held in place the cluster pushing against it.I didnt use the little clip thats on the oem speedo.Did you get the instructions with that? There is also a smoked lense that goes with it.

Re: Digital Gauge Pack

god i love my car.
