Broke my high beam.

Well I actually broke the leaver. Yes the one with cruise and the wipers on it. It no longer clicks when i pull back, hence, my high beam doesn't work. Any clue on how to fix this?

Re: Broke my high beam.

did you actually break the lever stem or when you pull on the stem it no longer actuates the high beams.

the lever stem pushes on an actuator rod that runs the length of the steering column to the high/low switch which is attached to the ignition switch on top of the column down near the base of the column.

if you broke the stem, you'll need a new one (often available ot azone or advance), to remove the old one it shoul push in twist and pull out (IIRC) and you'll need to disconnect the cruise control hookup under the dash and pull it up through the colum (4 tiny wires and one blade like connector), install is the reverse (have fun gettin the wires back down through the console.

if you didnt break the stem and the switch no longer works, look under the dash along the top left side of the column there is a large switch assemply eith 2 actuator rods goin to it, one goes down the middle, this is ignition, the other goes down the left, this is the hi/lo. IS the rod still on the switch? if it is, there is a little bit of adjustment in the switch mount, so you can try that, if not same adjustment may get it to stay. If the switch is bad replace it
