Which vinyl fabric for door panels?
Im looking to create a fiberglass door backing using my current GTA door panels and then wrapping them in vinyl or leather. I want to know what some of the guys who have wrapped panels and other such things before would recommend in terms of brands of vinyl or even leather that would look nice with the dash and other interior features of our cars.
I just dont want the vinyl or leather to look way different then the style and color thats on the dash and ebrake handle etc. Mainly, ill be re-using my GTA arm rests and want them to somewhat match the newly covered door.
Also, any suggestions on how to attach the fabric to the back of the fiberglass backing board I make? I dont think staples will work! Im thinkin my only option would be a VERY strong glue! Any suggestions there?

check out this thread on ls1tech, alot of good info about putting vinyl on plastic panels. I guess it would work just the same on fiberglass?

When I built my poker table, I used black Whisper vinyl from Jo-Ann's (for the padded rail, table is 4'x8'). It was something like $15 a yard, but it's the nicest vinyl I've ever found. It actually feels and looks like leather. It comes in 54" width, so you could probably do 2 door panels with 2 or 3 yards.

^ I'm going to redo mine in regal silver cloth to match the materials on my seats when I buy the upholstery for my seats......same stuff.
Then I'm going to add a vinyl cover buildout along the lower door to hold my speakers for my stereo.
You should be able to find something close there....send them a material sample and they'll match it as close as they can.
