Front Seat Upholstery Question

Engine: 385 FastBurn / Performance 3.4L
Transmission: TKO600 / 700R4
Axle/Gears: Ford 9" / GM 10bolt
Front Seat Upholstery Question
I have an 87 Firebird with the sliding headrests
I cant find where to detach it to slide the old interior cover off.
Theres no screws or anything just a metal bar that slides in and out of the seat. Any idea's, I cant cut it off because I need them off to slide the new upholstery on. ???

In a Camaro, the release is inside the seat back. You have to run a slim blade of some sort down the "metal bar" with the head rest up, IIRC.
