Aluminum door sill preview
Just thought I'd throw up a pic of the door sills I'm working on. Made from some aluminum I got at Home Depot for like 20 bucks, cut to size, polished. The emblem is from the trunk of a Sunbird. Flat top stainless screws in the stock location. I was gonna use a set of stock "firebird" fender emblems, but mine are MIA. For the piece thats missing, I plan on borrowing a page out of Shroom's book and using the 4th gen inner sill and kick panel to make it look clean. What do you guys think?

Looks good, you could just tie your older plastic trim up under it (the corner) so it covers your frame and looks complete

More Progress! My 4th gen kick panels showed up this morning. They arent finished, in fact theres not a screw holding anything in. i'm still going to put some weatherstripping on the outer edge to clean up the look a little, and maybe make a fiberglass extension for where its too short. But all this is going to be covered in vinyl once its done anyways, so should look pretty good.

I noticed you are using the 3rd gen belts with some 4th gen door panels. How do you keep the panels from rubbing on the retractors? Oh yeah and by the way the door sills are looking good.

I bent the seat belt brackets towards the seats as far as I could before they touched. Its tight, the panels actually barely touch, but I dont think anyone could notice. Thanks for the compliment btw!

Heres my thread dedicated to the 4th gen door panels.

Yes they fit. Sortof. They werent made to fit, and they're a pain in the *** to get to look right. If you're gonna do it, you have to make the commitment. Theres some cutting of the door involved, so once you start, theres no going back. Mine still are nowhere near perfect. Actually they look good except at the bottom, where there is still about an inch of metal showing. Can't be helped cause the 4th gen panels are shorter.
