Hyundai Tiburon seats?

has anybody ever tried putting Hyundai Tiburon seats in their thirdgen? I've been looking at them on ebay, they don't look bad at all, the only thing Im worried about is their height.

Re: Hyundai Tiburon seats?

I was digging around in a jy yesterday and ran across one of those cars. Thought they would look pretty nice but was wondering about the height also. I asked the guy how much he told me $50 each. If I hadn't went with 4th gen leathers I may have taken him up on it. I think those also have airbag in the sides of them, the ones I saw had a "SRS" tag sewn on the side. Let us all know how they look if you go with them.

You could always make adapter plates that bolt to the bottom of the seats so you can bolt up the stock 3rd gen seat tracks. That's how I put a set of 99 Cougar seats in my CJ7. I used 1/4" flat iron, drilled holes to bolt the seat tracks on with nuts/bolts, then bolted the plates to the bottom of the seat. It's very simple.

yea thats what I planned on doing, but the problem is since these cars are designed for bucket seats will the tiburon seats be too high.

Re: Hyundai Tiburon seats?

Too high?????????????????? The ones I looked at were cloth and seemed to be much shorter than ours. Unless you are talking about the rear seats, I didn't pay any attention to them.

Re: Hyundai Tiburon seats?

I currently have Mitsubishi Conquest seats in my Trans Am and did what has been stated, just made an adapter plate for the seat to bolt on the thirdgen tracks... The Tiburon seats look like they'll fit just fine...

Re: Hyundai Tiburon seats?

Its not difficult at all to retrofit seats. The "hardest" part is bolting the tracks to the seat...thats how many racing seats are fitted...
