Door Panels

Has anyone ever seen any door panels for a 3rd gen camaro that has no arm rest? Had a 6 point cage installed and the arm rest cant be installed with it. Was thinking about modifying the arm rest to shut around the bar but my drivers side door panel got destroyed during resto of the car so have to buy a new door panel no matter what.

Re: Door Panels

If you order new ones, they don't have any of the holes cut out in the fabric. So if you wanted to leave the armrest off you wouldn't cut that part out. I orderd some from classic industries about three months ago and they were about $150. Be sure to ask when ordering because some brands may be different.

Re: Door Panels

Thanks for the info on buying new panels without holes. I might just go that route or maybe just try selling the car and telling them that they could go that route or go to some custom interior place.

Re: Door Panels

whoever did your cage made a boo boo, or i would have supplied them with the armrest and said make the door shut.

anyhow.
if you get your door panels recovered(sometimes cheaper than new) you can use, or have an upholstry shop make a pull handle.
ive seen some made out of some nice vinal or leather. stiched a couple times across to give it a nice look.
good luck!

Re: Door Panels

Yah he made just a little slight boo boo when welding it in but not very much. I was thinking about cutting into the armrest and having an upholstery shop just leather wrap the armrest after cutting into them.

I got the roll bar cheaper then it costed my supplier to get it and my friends dad use to build race cars and welded it into my car for me. Installation only costed me a saturday of helping him move so no room to complain :P
