window motor?

ok, my passenger side window wont go all the way down, it stops about 3/4's of the way and starts making a loud clicking sound like it's missing a tooth of a gear and can't catch the next tooth to bring down the rest of the window. Even when i roll it all the way back up it will do the same thing when the window is at the top of it's travel.

I bought the car with this problem and talked to the previous owner about it, he told me i needed a plastic clip????? I took off the door panel today to take a look at it and can't visually see what he was talking about. Is there a "plastic clip" that is preventing me from lowering my window all the way down or is what i really need is a new window motor? Thanks

Re: window motor?

well the window motor is just part of the window regulator. like i said you probably need the whole assy. teeth are probably missing from the regulator part. it comes as an assy. and they aren't very expensive.
