don't want tacky shiny vinyl or anything. but need to replace stock seats and figure might go with a black/blue racing seats, need to recline and slide like regular ones and also need to sit as low as the stock seats.
anyone change their seats over yet?

I recommend Scat/Procar Seats because they are affordable and numerous people have recommended them plus they make brackets for our cars. When mine come and get installed will post pics.

Re: looking for racing"style" seats, that fit.
thanks. especially since they don't make buns for my model. and the next best is 4th gen seats, not sure what they look like. Again, they will probably need rebuilt. and cost me $100 a piece at a yard. or travel expense to pick up from someone.
funny thing, i believe they don't allow a harness because it makes the car "race ready" ...isn't a 5point safer than a shoulder belt???? Wonder what they say about a rollcage.

Re: looking for racing"style" seats, that fit.
I just bought some Corbeau Forza seats for my car. They don't recline but I got a good deal on them... $160 (for two seats and seat tracks) in almost perfect condition as opposed to about $650 for brand new. The seat tracks are from a Corvette C3 so I'll be modifying them today and tomorrow and hopefully I'll have pics of them installed by Friday night.
Mike
PS - The seat tracks are lower than the stock seat tracks and the seat itself sits way lower than the stock seats. That is a great thing since I'm 6'3 and I need extra room for a helmet when I autocross.

These are my new racing seats. They sit same height a the original ones, recline and I used the new seat tracks (bolt up fine). Got them for $100 at a show.

i need them to recline, its not a racecar and i have a family. regardless of how useless the back seats are, even the belts are short "i guess the car is designed to hold two adults and 2 kids...." not exactly the safest thing of its time to dump kids in.

just buy a set off of ebay through the tracks they come with in the trash unbolt your factory tracks from your seats if i remember right i think you might have to drill some new holes in your tracks and use some washers for the spacing.

yeah, i wouldn't use any other tracks. unless i break the ones that came with car. Need a bit of TLC though.
Anyone else have trouble seeing out mirrors, rearview and such? I have to lean back. i'm 5'10" not too tall.

I had to adjust my mirrors once I got my Forza seat installed but I have power mirrors so it was no big deal. I'm using the Corbeau tracks that came with my seats. It's name brand so I trust them.
You cans see some pics of it installed here:

well. i KNOW how to adjust mirrors... but they're so tiny there is only so much you can adjust, if you loosen bolts is there any more adjustment you could get?
anyway, 4th gen seatbelts, then seats.
right now it looks safe enough to the state. so focus on bitty bits of rust, and maint. then paint and seats/seatbelts.
edit: thanks guys.

Personally I wouldn't cheap out on seats. They are one thing that I wouldn't want cheap parts in. In an accident they could save your life...
I have Corbeau seats right now in mine but will eventually change to Arizen seats so I can have my shoulder belt loops back.
