91 z28 shift indicator

91 z28 shift indicator

can anyone show me a picture of what the gear indicator is supposed to look like on a 91z28 auto car. just bought a 91 z28 and the indicator shows neutral when in reverse and so forth so im sure it needs some adjustment trouble it it has 2 "D"'s im sure one is overdrive and the other is not is the cover for a 91 supposed to have both "D"'s thanks for any help in advance

Yes, there are 2 "D's" on the pattern, the upper one is OD, and the lower one is D.

thanks for conforming i figured such, now i must figure why the shifter is off when in reverse it shows neutral, and i can go through every gear but cannot get into 1st gear, shifter doesnt allow and will not go down so far thanks 4 the help

When you move the actual shifter, does the transmission go into gear in the order shown on the shift plate but the red mark on the plate is not in the right spot? If that is the case then the shift plate is probably broken somehow.
