Front Seat Belts

My on my 87, the seat belts are going to be replaced and carpet replaced. How do I removed them (the ones by the transmission hump and center console) it has a screw head pattern on it and the flat heads just keep it turning. I don't want to rip them off I want to keep them as close to mint as possible. thanks.

Re: Front Seat Belts

That is a plastic cover for the seat belt buckle screw hole.On the backside there is a small gap that you can use to get the edge to overlap and unscrew it.Or you can just stick a flat bladed screwdriver behind it and pry it out. Then its just a big torx head screw that holds the buckles in place
