speedo/odometer broke

Okay, I F'ed this thing up and I really need help. While replacing my speedo cable, I took my speedo face plate off and from there everything else seemed to just fall out. There are what seems to be two worm gears to this thing, (one is white/ one is grey), and I can't figure out which one goes where or how to put them back in the damn thing. I have a 145 mph speedo and I would like to keep it. Can anyone help me?
