The car came stock with a four speed automatic, but someone put a 700R4 in, but now no center console will allow it to shift into first. I've been rocking a center console-less Camaro because of that, and I was wondering if I had to somehow reposition the way the shifter sits, or if I have to find a center console that will accomidate this.

 

please clear up what you're asking. you said it came stock with a 4 speed auto and someone put a 700r4 in... but a 700r4 is a 4 speed auto. What tranny did it have originally and what tranny does it have now? also, a picture of the shifter location might help us help you too.
