Steering column
Steering column
Noob here.. I need a tilt steering column repair kit for my '91 TA but I noticed all the kits out there say they repair 1982 to 1990.
Will these earlier kits work on my car or is there something way different about the 91s and 92s??

Re: Steering column
I had the same thing come up the other day too. Does anyone know what the difference is between a '90 and '91 column?

Re: Steering column
OK so it looks like the column I have is out of a '92 and the front of the housing is about 1/2 an inch longer then the column in my '89 IROC. (I'm guessing for extra airbag guts) SO the repair kits don't look like they will work for '91 or '92 but probably not for '90 either.

Re: Steering column
Ok, 82-89 = same collumn. 90-92 = airbag collumn. The GM dealer has them. I replaced the cam and lock cylander in my 90 rs recently. The major differences are length and girth (The 90-92 collumn has a narrower steering shaft) It is for the airbag that GM redesigned the collumn. (For airbag contact ring) PM me if you need help.
Good luck!
