Can anyone tell me how to replace my power window motors and also if its a difficult task ive heard its a pain but never personally tried it.
You know its bad when you have to push the window and button to get it to go down and pull it up while pushing the button to haha.

Clean with WD-40 first, then lube the motor and tracks with white grease before you replace the motor--simple solutions first.

Re: power window motor shot

It's not as hard as it sounds, but it does take some time to do. I've replaced the power window motor on the driver's side of my '83 Trans Am and I'm going to replace the passenger side too. You have to remove the door panel to get to the power window motor. You do not have to removed the regulator to remove the motor. You can just drill the motor rivets out. Just be sure you secure the regulator arms before you drill the motor rivets out. I just braced them to the top of the door using two C clamps to hold them. You have to drill through the door skin to get to the motor rivets. Someone on here had a template that showed the location on the where to drill. Your replacement motor should come with 3 or 4 screws to secure your new motor back onto the regulator.
