Firebird Auto Shifter
I was wondering if the push button shifter can be swapped out for what a camaro/corvette has during this generation? The push button is on the top rather than from the side. For some reason the one Pontiac provided doesn't appeal to me. Has anyone done this?

Not sure about the corvette shifter, but the 85-92 one with the thumb-button can be swapped in. Not all of the bolt holes line up (3 out of 4 do, IIRC), but it does mount firmly enough. That's what I wound up doing to my old 83.

The **** itself should swap right over. Way back when my car was an automatic I had the 4th gen shifter ****.

ugh I hate the top shifter button the Camaros. Ugly and goofy feeling
Last Camaro I owned i swapped it for the Pontiac T-handle.
There is a clip on the front side--use a flat screw driver and pull it out--handle comes right off.
