Missing button cover plates

Hello everybody!

My name is Daniel and I live in Finland. I'm currently doing some interior work on my 86 Firebird Pickup. I'm having a really hard time finding the gray button cover plates that are installed on cars with no rear defogger / wiper.

I managed to get the original spare part numbers from GM PartsImager. It's either 10037704 or 10037703 (unable to tell which one is right due to the crappy quality on the pictures).

Since my car is converted to pickup the rear defroster has been removed leaving a hole in my dash. :-(

I'd really appreciate your help on finding these, either new or used (any guys parting out?).

Re: Missing button cover plates

Daniel,

First...Im gonna say it as I know others will.... Ide like to see pictures of this thing!!!! can you post some pictures of the car? Ive seen conversions to pick ups before, but Ide still like to see it!

Now...as for the part you are looking for. Im not sure if Modern Day Muscle will ship out that way, but its worth a shot. They have the delete panels for $1.95 US.

http://moderndaymuscle.com/inc/sdetail/1241

Here is the page with the other delete panels and the switches also.

Maybe give them a buzz or drop them an email to see what they can do for ya...

Re: Missing button cover plates

Thanks J!

That was a really good site! I sent them an e-mail right away so now I just hope that they're able to ship to Finland.

I recently bought the car so I haven't taken any good picures of the conversion yet but I have two shots from the ad:

We have quite a few of these converted Firebirds/Camaros here in Finland. They were converted because at the time all vans and pickups were tax free. And since Finland have sky high car taxes somebody came up with this wicked idea. My 86 has actually cruised around in Florida as a coupe before the Finns got their hands on it in the early 90s.

If you guys are interested I could write an article about these cars cause I have lots of pictures of other conversions.

No prob man! Hopefully they can help ya out. Sometimes they are a tad slow on emails...but give them a chance.

Ide definetly be interested in hearing more info. Go ahead and write something up...Im sure it will get attention. I for one would like some detail pictures of what all they do for the conversion and what not. Im always up for new info.

Re: Missing button cover plates

Thanks for your help guys!

jlarsson just sold me two of these delete panels so my problem is solved.

Since there seems to be interest in our 3:rd gen pickup conversions I'm going to write an article about them in the near future. Any good ideas in which section I should post?
