Shifter for 4th gen console

Car: 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA
Engine: 355 Stealth Ram
Transmission: 700R4 w/ 2600 stall
Axle/Gears: 9-bolt 3.27
Shifter for 4th gen console

I have done a search, and im in the process of putting in a 4th gen console and putting a B&M Hammer shifter but it doesnt quite fit what shifter is everyone using in the 4th gen swap thanks for any help.

Use a standard style boot, instead of a slider & you'll have no problems.

That's how my 87 GTA came stock. A boot instead of the slider plate.

The Hammer shifter if I'm correct won't clear even with a manual boot (if it's like the megashifter), I had to cut my console out and have a boot made for it but was cheap and easy
