Best way to go about Washing Interior Carpet
I have Already removed the Carpet from my car, it is pretty dang dirty. Not just dirt but also some mouse crap, few grease marks. Overall just not pretty.
I really cant put it in our washing machine so i was wondering if anyone knows of a good way to wash otherwise, and maybe a good cleaning compound they used.

Thanks for the input, Yea I think I'm going to Buy a pressure washer on Monday. Its a 2600 psi, I don't know much about pressure washers but that should probably do the trick.

I would start by hosing it down, then scrub the whole thing real good with a course scrub brush and bucket of hot water with laundry soap. Then rinse it off again with a sprayer nozzle or pressure wash.

I know you're talking about carpeting, but when I clean carpeted-based floormats at the carwash, it almost tore them apart. So, I own a powerful pressure washer, but would be afraid to use it on old carpeting (without turning down the amount of pressure, or using a lower pressure nozzle).
So, with my carpeting (in the car), I used the hand held attachment to a (house) carpet steam cleaner (and it's expensive cleaning solution, and some very hot water poured directly on the carpeting). Worked excellent!!! Had to also do this about 3 days when my window wouldn't go up all the way, and it rained sideways. (Before I promptly replaced the power window motors). Yes, you can use a pressure washer for a lot of other things, (washing your house before painting, cleaning driveways), but a steam cleaner is nice to have for house carpeting (especially if you have kids or pets). And, it may be easier convincing the wife to buy a new (house) steam cleaner, than it would be to buy a pressure washer - as she may consider that a tool.
- Personally, if I had my original carpeting already out of the car, it was real dirty, and I had the money, I'd go ahead and buy new (car) carpeting - if I could match the color and fit well.
- Also, if you do clean it and have any spots that wouldn't come out, consider new floormats. The rubber ones worked well and only cost $20-40 for a set.

Put it on the back of a pickup and take it to the car wash. I did that with an Iroc that I had and it came out great.
